THE WABI-SABI ETHOS

Finding the beauty in the transient, the humble, and the imperfect.

My work is a quiet rebellion against the disposable, a tribute to the enduring character of objects shaped by human hands.

STEP 1

the potter's journey:

STEP 2

Wedging & Shaping:
The process begins with preparing the wild clay by hand, followed by the slow, meditative work of pinching, coiling, and sculpting each form.

Drying & Refining:
Patience is key as each piece slowly air-dries over days. During this stage, the surfaces are trimmed, burnished, and refined.

STEP 3

STEP 4

The Bisque Fire:
The first firing in the kiln transforms the fragile greenware into hardened, porous ceramic, ready to accept the glaze.

Glazing & Final Fire:
Custom-mixed, earthy glazes are applied before the final, high-temperature firing that fuses the glaze to the clay, revealing the vessel's true character.
